To whom it may concern,
Let me introduce myself. My name is Léa Scalabrini. However, for the first year of my life, this was not what I was called. My name was Ji Hua Pu and I lived in an orphanage in China. I am explaining this to you because had I stayed in China, I would have not received opportunities as I have here in Canada. I therefore feel especially lucky and grateful to have the chance to apply to your great company.
I first became curious about electronics since I was a child. I loved playing on the computer and on tablets. As I got older, I started to get more and more interested about how all the components work together. Over the past couple of years, I have opened up laptops and phones to see the various components of the devices. I have upgraded the RAM and SSD on my older laptop. I have also taken apart laptops and phones and put their pieces back together again. This is one of my favorite hobbies. I also love to watch videos about various types of devices like laptops, tablets and phones. I love to learn about their different parts and their specifications.
In Cegep, I was able to combine my creative and technical abilities. I learnt some basic programming languages like HTML, CSS and Python. I also learnt scripting languages like PowerShell and Linux. With these programming and scripting languages, I combined my creative and logical skills by creating my own websites and small programs. I also learnt how to configure many servers like Active Directory, Exchange and SharePoint servers. I gained knowledge in configuring routers and switches and how to secure them. These skills allowed me to develop new creative talents that I did not realize I had before. I am convinced that being an IT Support Specialist would expand my technological knowledge.
I feel that I have many aptitudes that would make me an ideal candidate for this job. First of all, I am very comfortable using any type of device. When my family, friends or teachers have a technical question, they very often come to me. Secondly, I am a team player. Anytime I have been involved in a group project at school, I always take the lead. I organize a timeline and I break down what task every individual team member will do. Thirdly, one of my greatest strengths is public speaking. In secondary three, I was chosen to represent my school at Youth Parliament in Quebec City which further brought out my leadership skills. In secondary four and five, I have participated in Model UN. This skill would help me interact with users when helping them solve their issues and talking with colleagues. Lastly, I am definitely a hands-on learner and I feel that being an IT Support Specialist is a job that would complement this strength of mine, which makes this job a perfect fit for me.
It is for the above reasons that I feel that I would be an ideal candidate for the IT Support Specialist position. I look forward to having the opportunity to develop another part of my technological side. I am excited about the idea of configuring different types of devices and solving problems. I can't wait for this new journey in my life.
Sincerely,
Léa Scalabrini
